Australia’s only Red Bull Air Race pilot Matt Hall will take time out from his busy flying schedule on Friday to meet Fujitsu Racing Team star Jason Bright at the Sydney 500 V8 Supercar event at Homebush.
Hall, who finished third in his rookie Red Bull Air Race season this year, and Bright, who sits 20th in the Championship Series Driver Championship, will spend some time sharing information about their respective race day preparations, performance management and team operations.
Bright is also scheduled to take Hall on a “Hot Lap”, something the former RAAF pilot is excited about.
“I can’t wait to get out there to see what sort of things Jason and the Fujitsu Racing Team are doing on Race Days and learning as much as I can with other members of the Matt Hall Racing team,” Hall said.
“The V8 Supercars as an organisation and the teams involved are a benchmark when it comes to professionalism and I see Jason sitting at the top of that tree. I’d also like to hope I can pass on some of the things I learned in my military career and this year in the Red Bull series.
“Top top it off Jason is going to take me for a hot lap and that is something I have been wanting to do for many years. I am pretty pumped up.”
Bright too is hoping the high profile pair’s meeting will be a valuable learning experience.
"It's great to have the opportunity to meet and talk to a guy like Matt about the dynamics of being an air race pilot versus what we experience as V8 Supercar drivers," Bright said.
"I am really looking forward to taking Matt out for a hot lap in the Fujitsu Racing Falcon, Matt understands the need to be millimetre perfect, this will be a different experience and perspective amongst the concrete.
Hall will head south after the meeting on Friday and will be the guest speaker at the “Show Us Ya Wheels” Car Show in Victorian regional town Numurkah on Saturday night before displaying his Giles on Sunday.
