HOCKENHEIM, Germany - Sunday saw Hannes Arch pay a visit to the final race of this year’s Deutsche Tourenwagen-Masters (DTM) at the legendary Hockenheimring (GER) as a guest of Team Audi. The Austrian’s timing was perfect as Timo Schneider and Audi were able not only to defend their 2008 crown, but also became the first team in the 25-year history of the DTM series to win three back-to-back titles. Arch enjoyed every minute of the experience and even managed to pick up a few tips for next year’s Red Bull Air Race World Championship 2010.

“It was great here, I really enjoyed it. I also met up with Eddie Jordan and David Coulthard at the track, and we had so much fun. One thing is for sure: I’ll definitely be coming back to the DTM,” commented Arch.

The runner-up in the Red Bull Air Race World Championship 2009 was joined by members of his team at the traditional season finale held every year on the legendary Hockenheimring in the Rhine Valley, and managed to find time to chat with the mechanics from Team Audi, explaining afterwards: “There are a lot of similarities between the DTM and the Red Bull Air Race – speed, aerodynamics, technology – and a lot we can learn from each other.”

Saturday had seen Arch invited to take a one-of-a-kind “taxi ride” – with drivers Mattias Ekström (SWE) and Martin Tomczyk (GER) behind the wheel of a DTM Audi!

Joining a huge crowd of 155,000 motorsport fans at the Hockenheimring were numerous VIPs including racetrack legends Mika Häkkinen (FIN) and Niki Lauda (AUT) and former Wimbledon champion Boris Becker (GER).
