THE CITY

Perth is the window to the wonders of Western Australia, which are as diverse and spectacular as the landscape itself.

When you arrive in Perth, you'll be amazed by the beautiful beaches, abundant sunshine and friendly people. Perth experiences more sunshine than any other Australian capital city, so it's the perfect destination to visit at any time of the year.

Enjoy fish and chips on the beach at Cottesloe while you watch the incredible sunset; have dinner at the top of King's Park overlooking the Swan River and city skyline; take an exhilarating helicopter flight to the ancient formations, the Pinnacles; or snorkel and relax on beautiful Rottnest Island.

The beach plays a huge part in the culture of Western Australia. There are 19 metropolitan beaches scattered along Perth’s coast. At locations such as Cottesloe, Trigg or Scarborough Beach you can learn how to surf, enjoy a meal at one of the many beachside restaurants and cafes, or simply take in the amazing views.

In Perth and its surrounding precincts of Northbridge, Mount Lawley, Leederville and Subiaco, you’ll find many top quality restaurants, bars, nightclubs, live music venues, cultural areas and shops to explore.

Perth is very easy to get around, with free buses available in the Central Business District. Here you can visit attractions such as the Perth Mint, Swan Bells Tower, Art Gallery of WA and many others.

As the world’s largest inner city park – Kings Park is a must see destination for all visitors to Perth. Located in the heart of the city and covering a massive 400.6 hectares it’s easy to see why the Park is the most popular visitor destination in Western Australia. Stroll through the beautiful botanical gardens or try the treetop walk for a unique view of the city.

If you're after some serious retail therapy – visit the up-market King Street which is lined with boutiques, art galleries and eateries. Hay and Murray Street malls also offer many options.

From Perth, travel just a few hours in any direction and feel as if you’re a world away. Whether you’re looking for an outback adventure, a gourmet getaway or a holiday with a splash – it’s all on offer in Australia’s biggest state.
