Coleman claims first Challenger Class win at Ascot

The American pilot shows fine form in the Challenger Cup

Coleman takes the win

In a thrilling race that took place over English soil, Kevin Coleman claimed his first career win in the Challenger Cup with a time of 1.19.478, beating Florian Berger by 0.712.s.

Berger collected a penalty in his run, but was still able to claw his time back and make it good enough for a podium finish. Cristian Bolton flew a clean run and took the final podium spot in third with a time of 1:21.475.

Local hero Ben Murphy was looking good to take the win and faster in the split times until he hit a penalty at Gate 6, which saw him drop to the bottom of the timesheet.

Melanie Astles and Daniel Ryfa also collected penalties, which pushed them out of the running for a podium finish. Ryfa has not flown well here all weekend, and after collecting a penalty in his run, was bottom of the timesheet. The Swede will want to forget Ascot 2016.
