It's the moment the local fans in Japan have been waiting for... Yoshi Muroya makes his entrance at the Race Airport in Chiba.
With the spotlight well and truly on the nation's favourite race pilot, Muroya knows he'll be under pressure to perform but was upbeat about the forthcoming competition as he landed at the runway at the edge of Tokyo Bay. He'll be debuting his new Edge 540 V3 raceplane, which arrived in Japan last month. After time in the workshop, getting the high performance machine race-ready, Muroya managed to capitalise on the home advantage to log some hours.
"I had lots of practice last week," he said. "We've got the old engine in the new Edge 540 V3 so I'm already used to the engine, which is really important."
