A fitting end to a fantastic season as Nicolas Ivanoff takes the 12 points and victory in Spielberg, whilst Nigel Lamb takes his first ever World Champion title.

In a stunning final that had Austrian fans on the edge of their seats, Nicolas Ivanoff kept a cool head to take the race win, whilst Martin Sonka earned his first and well-deserved podium – there's no doubt that Sonka will be one to watch next season.

At first, it seemed that Lamb had slipped out of contention for the race win in the face of a dominating Hannes Arch. But as the Austrian took to the racetrack, something was clearly amiss as the split times consistently hit the red.

A penalty brought all hopes for another World Champion title crashing down and a stunned but rapturous Lamb celebrated his first ever title win.

"Sure, I wanted to be first, I tried to do everything and maybe in the last run I tried too hard," said a visibly downcast Arch before the winners' ceremony.
